This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the site and how it is handled.

What Gimmie Dat IP does

Gimmie Dat IP displays the public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses used by your internet connection.

Depending on how you connect to the internet, the address shown may belong to your internet service provider, mobile network, VPN provider, proxy service, or another network through which your connection is routed.

You do not need to create an account or provide your name, email address, or other contact information to use the service.

We do not use your IP address for advertising, marketing, profiling, or behavioural tracking.

IP address lookup

Gimmie Dat IP uses ipify to perform IPv4 and IPv6 lookups.

Your browser makes direct requests to:

  • api.ipify.org
  • api6.ipify.org

Because these requests are made directly from your browser, your public IP address is sent to ipify so it can be returned and displayed to you.

According to ipify, its public IP address API does not log visitor information.

Cloudflare

Gimmie Dat IP uses Cloudflare to deliver and protect the website.

Cloudflare processes technical information about requests to the site, including IP addresses, for purposes such as:

  • delivering website traffic;
  • protecting against malicious or abusive activity;
  • detecting automated or suspicious requests;
  • maintaining service security and availability; and
  • diagnosing operational problems.

We use Cloudflare security features including Bot Fight Mode and Browser Integrity Check.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics for basic website usage and performance statistics. Cloudflare describes this service as privacy-focused and states that it does not track individual users across websites.

Cloudflare may retain request and security information according to its own service configuration and retention practices.

Server logs and backups

Our web server temporarily records standard access-log information, which may include:

  • your IP address;
  • the date and time of a request;
  • the page or resource requested;
  • the HTTP response status; and
  • basic technical information associated with the request.

These logs are used only for operating and securing the service, preventing abuse, diagnosing faults, and maintaining availability.

Access logs are retained only for a short operational period before being automatically deleted. They are not retained as a long-term history of visitors or sent to a separate analytics service.

Our hosting infrastructure is backed up automatically. Temporary server logs may occasionally be present in a backup if they existed when that backup was created. Backups are retained only for a limited period and are automatically rotated.

Cookies

Gimmie Dat IP itself does not use cookies for advertising, marketing, user accounts, or behavioural tracking.

Cloudflare may set cookies where necessary for security and bot-protection features, including cookies used to identify automated traffic or confirm that a visitor has passed a security challenge.

These cookies are used for security and website operation, not advertising or cross-site behavioural tracking.

Why we process this information

Where Elements Platform Ltd processes personal information in connection with Gimmie Dat IP, we rely primarily on our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and protecting the service.

This includes preventing abuse, diagnosing technical problems, maintaining availability, and protecting our systems.

Some processing is also technically necessary to provide the service. For example, an IP address must be transmitted when your browser communicates with Gimmie Dat IP, Cloudflare, and the ipify lookup service.

Service providers and international processing

We do not sell, rent, or trade visitor information.

Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate the website, including:

  • Cloudflare, which provides content delivery, security, analytics, and abuse protection;
  • ipify, which provides the IPv4 and IPv6 lookup service; and
  • our hosting and infrastructure providers, which support the operation, security, and backup of the website.

These providers may process information in countries outside your own. Where applicable, personal information is handled subject to the legal and contractual safeguards used by those providers for international data transfers.

How long information is kept

We do not maintain a permanent database of IP addresses used to visit Gimmie Dat IP.

IP lookup results are displayed in your browser and are not stored by the Gimmie Dat IP application.

Server access logs are retained only for a short operational period before being automatically deleted. Temporary log information may occasionally remain for a limited period within infrastructure backups.

Cloudflare may retain request and security information according to the retention periods applicable to its services and our account configuration.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, data-protection law may give you rights relating to your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to complain to the relevant data-protection authority.

Because Gimmie Dat IP does not create user accounts or maintain a persistent visitor database, we may not always be able to identify information relating to a particular person from an IP address alone.

Children

Gimmie Dat IP is a general-purpose internet utility and is not specifically directed at children.

We do not knowingly request names, contact details, account information, or other user-submitted personal information from children or adults through this service.
